CI Job Training Specialist
**SPECIAL NOTIFICATION: ** This position is exempt from classified state service and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission.
**The Mission of Idaho Correctional Industries (ICI) is teaching and strengthening work and life skills to minimum and medium security offenders to prepare them for a successful transition into society. Through successful training we help build lives, save the State of Idaho Tax Dollar Investments, and ultimately benefit society**
**Please note changes have been made to this exam to include the standards required for the Department's compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003. There is only one exam attached to this announcement to be considered for this position.**
Idaho Correctional Industries is currently recruiting for a Job Training Specialist to work at the Pocatello Women's Correctional Center (PWCC) in Pocatello. Idaho. ICI is starting a training program teaching screen print and embroidery. The ICI Training Specialist oversees training and operations in assigned programs. Typical responsibilities include; teaching technical skills, coordinating with sales and customers to insure product delivery, ordering raw materials and supplies, and inventory control.
ICI is a self-supporting state agency and exists as an offender Training Program_. _We are seeking a self-starting, highly motivated individual. The successful applicant must able to train offenders in a minimum and medium custody environment, while maintaining manufacturing production schedules. ICI subscribes to professional ethics and supports all other agencies to foster the integrity of the criminal justice system.

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Daily Balancing
* Performs quality control inspections
* Issues material in Global Shop
* Creates purchase requisitions and material movement requests (stock items)
* Maintains tool control and key control
* Maintains accurate inventory - runs reports and performs physical counts
* Performs the offender training
* Logs all training in the training matrix
* Completes trainee evaluation forms
* Follows APS schedule
* Equipment maintenance and operational knowledge/experience
* Maintains Institutional control per IDOC policy - security
* Produce products from Proofs (PDF etc)
* Interviews, adds or removes offenders from the training program
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**
* Associates Degree or Vocational Training Certification or equivalent experience in the specialty area
* Good knowledge of computers including use of MS Word, Excel, & Outlook
* Experience training or supervising others in a production environment, that includes training others to develop and enhance job skills
* Experience using tools and equipment specific to the assigned shops
* Willingness to work in a correctional facility
**DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:**
* Experience utilizing design software programs
* Experience with Photo Shop, Separations Studio, Pulse DG or other related specialized programs
* Experience with Screen Printing and Embroidery in a production setting
* Experience with Screen Print and Embroidery standard machines and equipment
**HIRING INFORMATION:**
**To be hired, candidates will have a history and background supportive of department mission goals and will be subject to:**
* Completing a Background Investigation Questionnaire and pre-employment drug testing
* Having a federal and state criminal background check to include fingerprints
* Having a history of law-abiding behavior
* Felonies, misdemeanors, illegal drug usage, DUI's, adverse driving convictions and employment history may make you ineligible for employment
**Non-hiring restrictions are in place for candidates who:**
* Have been convicted of Domestic Violence or similar types of violent behaviors
* Have a dishonorable discharge from military service
* Currently are using, dealing or are associated with illegal drugs
* Have close friends or relatives under IDOC care & custody where the vacancy exists
* Are currently under IDOC supervision or probation (must be released from IDOC supervision or probation for at least one year)
**EXAMINATION:**
You must have the minimum level of experience or education described for each question to qualify for this position. Scoring will be based on your responses and information provided. A minimum rating of **75** is needed to pass this examination. Notification of your test results will be available online when the review process is complete.
**PRISON RAPE ELIMINATION ACT (PREA)**
In compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003, we are required to obtain certain information in the exam/interview process and consider specific information when making hiring and selection decisions for positions that have contact with inmates "in a prison, jail, lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility, or other institution..." The PREA Standards do not require we obtain this information for positions not within a correctional facility such as Probation & Parole and Central Office positions. Again, these changes are being implemented in order for the department to the meet the requirement of PREA standards.
