Custodian Leadworker
**Department: Facilities Services **

* Leads and manages multiple cleaning teams.
* Mentors, develops, and encourages development of personnel.
* Handles personnel matters including performance evaluations, assignments, and ensuring departmental procedures are followed.
* Ensures building and door control security.
* Rotates responsibilities with other leadworkers throughout the campus.
* Assists the department with inventory control and on-line supply orders.
* Meets with campus customers to resolve their needs.
* Schedules jobs to be accomplished and insures safe working conditions are maintained for clients and staff.
* Trains in proper and safe way to perform custodial services and operate/maintain equipment.
* Reviews work to insure compliance with standards.
* Performs and leads others in heavy-duty cleaning of offices, classrooms, locker rooms, dormitories, and lavatories.
* Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes bath, lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures.
* Dusts, mops, waxes, shampoos furniture, woodwork, walls, windows, and glass.
* Selects products and cleaning compounds.
* Operates scrubbing, buffing, shampooing, vacuuming, and wet/dry pickup machines.
* Performs routine and preventive maintenance on cleaning equipment.
Shift will generally be 4:00 pm to 12:30 am but can and will change to weekend work and different times as required to support events. Team coverage for Events may be 24-hours; this position ensures complete coverage through the assigned team. This position reports directly to the Custodial Foreman.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
* **Good knowledge of: the methods, materials, and equipment used in heavy-duty custodial work including related safety practices; cleaning agents and related products and their possible reactions.**
* **Some knowledge of: supervisory practices; sanitation and infection control; training methods used in custodial work.**
* **Experience: operating industrial-type high-speed cleaning equipment; performing minor maintenance on custodial equipment; using hand tools to repair cleaning equipment; explaining the use and maintenance of custodial equipment.**
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* **MS Office proficiency; work management software experience**
* **Previous experience in an academic environment**
* **Team Leadership experience**
