**_Primary Purpose_**
Develop, implement, evaluate, and oversee Successful Transitions and Retention Tracking (START) program designed to transition underprepared students into postsecondary education.
**_Key Responsibilities_**
Project management of the START program:
* Lead START entrance process for all potential students:
* Provide screening and assessment of applicants to determine eligibility for enrollment, job and college readiness and appropriate occupational training pathways. Recruit and train stakeholders to interview potential candidates.
* Lead two day orientation for accepted students.
* Promote the development of self-directed learning communities that facilitate teamwork and academic success.
* Assist in developing and facilitating curriculum for college preparatory classes.
* Hire, train and supervise START staff
* Oversee START Student Identity Counseling program.
* Oversee START mentoring program; recruiting, training and monitoring of peer/community mentors.
* Oversee recruitment efforts for START programs.
* Oversee curriculum and teaching of START math and writing courses.
* Teach College Success course when necessary.
* Lead strategic planning process
* Collect, analyze and oversee reporting of data for START program
* Monitor any external funder requirements; maintain student files, monitor budgets, document services, prepare monthly activity report.
* Direct student awards/scholarships in conjunction with the Financial Aid department.
* Create, develop and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Create and maintain practicum opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
* Identify sources and apply for internal and external funding.
* Attend monthly retention meetings with college faculty.
* Schedule and facilitate individual student retention meetings.
* Report and publish data in peer reviewed journals.
**_Minimum Qualifications_**Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of work experience related to: Hiring, Training, and Supervising staff; Project management; Budgeting; and Student Recruitment.
**_Preferred Qualifications_**Master's degree in Counseling or related field and a work history of five (5) years related to the following:
* Strategic planning
* Screening, assessment, and evaluation of applicants
* Demonstrable experience with facilitating teamwork
* Teaching and curriculum development (college success, math and/or writing courses)
* Program performance analysis (data collection, analysis, and reporting)
* Internal and external stakeholder relationships
* Grant-writing and internal and external funding
* Academic research and publication in peer reviewed journals

Salary has been approved at $53,000 - $54,600 annually, commensurate with education and experience. Includes a competitive benefits package.
