Storeroom Supervisor/Buyer

Monsanto's Soda Springs Idaho plant, a leading producer of elemental phosphorus, is seeking a highly motivated individual to direct and develop storeroom personnel, manage the warehouse, and control the procurement of goods, services and inventory of goods. This will be done in accordance with plant and corporate policies. The Storeroom Supervisor/Buyer position is salaried and will report directly to the Supply Chain Lead.

**Responsibilities:**

+ Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and developing employees

+ Oversee all warehouse employees, including creating schedules, providing coaching, mentoring, and issuing corrective action when required

+ Safeguards warehouse operations and $8M plus in inventory by establishing and monitoring security procedures/protocols

+ Be a change leader for plant and corporate initiatives

+ Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations

+ Initiate, coordinate and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures

+ Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security

+ Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as any internal policies (e.g. code of ethics) or procedures to ensure that the behavior by the organization is of the highest level of integrity, honesty, and transparency

+ Prepare annual budget, plan expenses, analyze and variances, and make necessary corrections to help company achieve it financial goals

+ Drive process and system improvements such as Monsanto Production System MPS (Lean, 5S, Safety, etc.)

+ Oversee audits of warehouse (Inventory, ISO, RC14001, etc.)

+ Develop a working relationship with plant personnel; including planners, accounting/accounts payable personnel, project engineering, and/or ES&H groups.

+ Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided

+ Negotiate and manage contracts for goods and services in accordance with Corporate Legal and Environmental, Safety & Health guidelines. Identify and pursue leverage opportunities with these suppliers

+ Utilize reporting and analysis tools (MS Excel, Access, SAP, ARIBA, Spotfire, etc.)

+ Manage the plant's relationships with suppliers and bid package negotiations for plant project executions, using the online sourcing program

+ Participate and represent the plant on corporate procurement initiatives. Support plant rollout of corporate initiatives

+ Accountable for annual cost reduction/improvement targets

+ Drive implementation of regional/local agreements

+ Work with key stakeholders to develop processes for evaluation of new and existing suppliers

+ Develop a professional network by interfacing with buyers and contract managers from other Monsanto sites

+ Participate in plant safety, environmental, and quality programs

**Required Skills/Experience:**

+ BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or other related field and 3 to 5 years' relevant experience

+ Analytical ability, demonstrating work is complete and thorough when gathering the data required for decision analysis

+ Knowledge of inventory accounting principles, policies and procedures

+ Detail oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills; able to manage multiple assignments

+ Self-starter who is highly motivated

**Desired Skills/Experience:**

+ Demonstrated abilities in negotiation skills; contract terms and conditions, purchasing law, etc.

+ SAP and ARIBA Software experience

+ Presentation and written/verbal communication skills

+ Previous Supply Chain purchasing experience

+ Ability to manage conflict with others in a way that preserves the relationship

+ Knowledge of supply chain management; with emphasis on procurement concepts

+ Willing to relocate to other Monsanto locations

+ People leadership experience
